The IdF Management Agent for FIM (Forefront Identity Manager) provides a native interface between Microsoft Identity Infrastructure and IBM-RACF, CA-ACF2, CA-Top Secret or IBM-i5. The agent works in conjunction with IdF Advanced Adapters.  It acts as a trusted virtual administrator on the target system, performing tasks such as creating log IDs and changing passwords. In addition, it automates some of the functions that administrators usually perform manually. The IdF’s Microsoft solution enables the use ACF2, RACF or Top Secret either as a managed (target) resource or as an authoritative (trusted) source of user information for FIM.

The agents built natively for z/OS provides native bi-direction integration with Microsoft's identity infrastructure and the mainframe. IdF provides FIM, ILM and MIIS with an efficient and seamless identity synchronization, provisioning and reconciliation with mainframes, midrange and legacy systems.

IdF’s advanced direct native communication between Microsoft infrastructure and its target source eliminates the use of such technologies as “screen scrapping”. This resolves issues resulting from “screen scrapping” such as limited functionality, longer development cycles, major performance issues, typically “break issues” from user interface changes and long term maintenance costs.
